About Jenny Fenig
My Story
I am a certified career/life coach, yoga teacher, new mom support group leader, speaker, and student in the fascinating journey called LIFE. I am passionate about unleashing the peaceful power of women to create inspired lives.
Experiencing one of my life goals: Walking the Great Wall of China.
The goal? Aligning values with action steps … and achieving continuous improvement in all aspects of life. How do we get there? By redesigning your outlook, reprogramming your default tendencies, clearly articulating what you want, releasing the fear that is holding you back, and taking action. Action is the antithesis of fear … plain and simple.
I absolutely love what I do. But it wasn’t always like this…
How did I get here?
A LESSON ON LOSS
Dealt a tragic loss at 16 with the death of my younger sister from cancer, I learned early on that life is short. After many long, painful years coming to terms with Julie’s death, I committed myself to living the fullest, healthiest, most meaningful life possible… and encouraging others to do the same.

CAREER EVOLUTION
I started my career as a communications manager for Kick Butts Day, an initiative to curb kids’ tobacco use, while still a student at the University of Florida. Upon graduating with a public relations degree, I moved to the bright lights of New York City to become a PR practitioner for top agency Porter Novelli, representing clients like Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline, M&M’s, Hershey, Polaroid, and Kellogg. I traveled around the globe spreading the messages of my clients, racking up frequent flier miles and developing life-long relationships with amazing people.
But something was missing. If PR wasn’t what I was looking for, what was?
I then made a career switch by parlaying my communications experience into a fast-paced position as a producer and director of top-notch business conferences attended by the best and brightest for the Institute for International Research. I booked legendary speakers like peak performance expert Tony Robbins, Secretary of State Colin Powell, management guru Tom Peters, Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong, and best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell. I was at the top of my game, but again not completely fulfilled professionally.
LIGHT-BULB MOMENT
On my 30th birthday, I was walking alone amongst the crowds and the lights on The Strip in Las Vegas on a business trip. Although happily married and in a lucrative career, a message hit me loud and clear on that day: “What are you doing? Where are you going?” I knew I wasn’t living the life I was supposed to be living and I couldn’t deny it any longer. I made a pact with myself to make a major career shift by the end of that year…
Where did I turn first? My sanctuary: yoga. After 7 years of consistent yoga practice, I decided to undergo 200 hours of training to receive my yoga teaching certification from the famed Sonic Yoga in New York City. I loved what yoga did for my body, and most importantly, my mind. The training process was very intense, introspective and enlightening. Near the end of the program I developed the courage to do what I was put on earth to do: elevate the energy and consciousness of the world, one person at a time. Leaving the safety and security of a full-time job behind, I resigned.
Yoga is life.
After spending time at an ashram (a yogic community … yes, I was having my own “Eat Pray Love” experience), talking with family and friends, and reconnecting with myself, I decided to build the next phase of my career – dubbed by a close friend “Jenny Fenig 2.0″ – around inspiring others to embrace their power and live their best life. I completed my professional coach training with the amazing Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).
LIVING AUTHENTICALLY
I’m now an entrepreneur, still happily married (my husband Steven and I get to spend more time together now than ever), and mother to an amazing son named Sean and three cute kitties Cricket, Cali and Jezzy. My biggest priorities – family, peace of mind and freedom – are at center stage in my life. I have translated my passion for personal development and PLAYING BIG into a business that I love.
Priority #1: My wonderful family.
My amazing cats who remind me about the importance of relaxation.
MY BUSINESS FOCUS
As a yoga-inspired life/career coach to women and moms, I am passionate about guiding you to unleash your peaceful power at work, play and in this fascinating journey called life. I love offering my unique brand of coaching, inspiration and energy to smart, savvy women in my one-on-one coaching business, in my live moms support groups with babybites in New York City, and at my blog Zen Jenny. I believe that women (moms especially!) are the greatest untapped natural resource in the world and it is my mission to clear the way for the next female revolution.
Remember: what you want is yours for the taking …
MY LIFE PURPOSE
My personal evolution has led me to take purposeful risks to live my mission. No risk, no reward, right? The payoff has been huge… and I’m just getting started (yippee!). I’ve been blessed with so many amazing opportunities: to coach amazing people, deliver workshops and speeches, teach yoga, and lead new moms support groups. This was all possible through my conscious decision to create a life that revolves around my gifts and passions.
Taking the time to put my life purpose down on paper was a powerful process for me. I love working with my clients to capture theirs, too. Here’s mine:
I, Jenny Fenig, hear, see, feel and know that the purpose of my life is to be a positively peaceful soul, to enjoy the present moment with grace and gratitude, and to empower and inspire myself and others.
What’s your life purpose? How well are you living your purpose on a daily basis? Take a few moments to think about it. Get busy living …
PRACTICING GRATITUDE
Thank you to the many teachers, family, friends, clients and students who have supported me on my journey. To have such amazing people in my life is a priceless gift.
