“The Retreat for Goddesses is, simply put, an amazing experience. You are surrounded by the inspiring beauty of the Berkshires, fed healthy and nourishing food (that you don’t have to clean up!), and engaged in some of the most thought provoking conversations. Jenny, with her unique blend of expertise and intuition, creates an experience that feeds the heart, soul, and mind of each participant. I cannot highly recommend this event enough. It has been critical to me as a professional and as a person. Thank you, Jenny Fenig, for putting together such a wonderful program.” – Juliet LeBien
“I was introduced to Jenny’s blog a few years ago at a time when I was starting to recognize my unhappiness and question my career path. After following her words like a life-line for over a year, I ran into her in person quite serendipitously. The Universe was clearly telling me something, and I took it as a sign to finally make a change.Jenny and I began working together only days later and the results started to manifest immediately. One of the first things she had me do was write down three very specific goals/wishes. In less than six months I had checked the first two off the list and was well on my way to completing the third.
Working with Jenny was an absolute catalyst in my life. Her support and candor helped me not only identify and engage in the path I’d been seeking but also gave me the courage to face my fears and allow myself to believe in my own dreams. It has now been almost a year since we began our work together and my life look entirely different than it did a year ago. In short, I’m happy and moving forward with confidence. There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude…” – Mira Olson, Producer, Personal Growth Consultant and Writer
“Hi Jenny,
I wanted to reach out and let you know that the free call you did about a month ago had a huge impact on my life. I have been wanting to pursue something for several years that I have not allowed myself. I was just getting ready to start a training program and internship for divorce mediation… something I didn’t really want to do. I felt like I had to use my law degree somehow, and there was no way I was going back to corporate law. So I thought I should try mediation. I felt really bad about not having worked and taking time off with my kids, and to work on writing and other endeavors.
This may sound flaky, but there has been this little internal voice telling me for 2 1/2 years to try Interfaith Seminary. After your call, I asked myself, “Is mediation what you really want? And if not, if you could do anything, what would you want to do?” Truthfully, I really want to be ordained as an Interfaith Minister and Spiritual Counselor. It will combine my love of meditation, prayer, yoga, philosophy and studying the spiritual practices of different cultures. So… I bailed out of my training program that I had signed up for. It’s funny, because I even changed my LinkedIn profile, feeling like I had to prove something to other people about the fact that I could work again. I have not changed it back!
I have been on the mailing list of The New Seminary in NYC for a few years. I finally got an application and went to an open house this week with my husband. We were impressed by the program. They do a lot of work with the United Nations. Many of their graduates work with NGO’s and not-for-profits involved with the cause of world peace and global understanding. Others start their own businesses. I am not exactly sure what direction I will take it but I am 99% sure that I will be starting the program and it finishes exactly when my youngest child starts kindergarten. And I am sure that I will be able to find a vocation that I love, that I am passionate about and that allows me to continue with spiritual practice and yoga (my major priorities right now outside of my family). I think I will find the right work/life balance at the right time for me and that the study will be greatly enriching.
So THANKS for your call, and I would definitely like to be your client in the future!” – Michelle Garrison Hough
“When I was laid off in the fall of 2009, I knew that this was an opportunity for change. I was not happy in my corporate gig – tired of filling quotas, suffocated by the cube and yearning for something bigger. What that looked like was a different story. Unlike many people I didn’t have a “dream job” I’d always longed for – no back up plan or sense of what would fulfill me in a perfect world. And so began my journey of discovery to find my bliss.
As I set out on this new path of discovery, I knew I would need someone to help guide me through uncharted territory. And so, my work with Jenny began. Like the Glenda the Good Witch to my Dorothy, she encouraged me to take small steps on the Yellow Brick Road. She encouraged me to put myself out there, trust that I had all the tools I needed and to enjoy the journey of discovery – even when I encountered wicked witches or flying monkeys.
I began by simply setting aside time for myself each day to ask myself the tough questions about what it was I wanted, setting small goals for discovering my new career or just simply dreaming of what’s possible. As I peeled back the layers, clues slowly began to emerge. I began to identify the type of environment I craved, the values that are truly important to me, the work that will make me feel fulfilled at the end of the day – all forming a framework for my dream job.
This foundation gave me the strength to branch out, explore and dive in to researching new opportunities through networking, informational interviews and joining industry groups. As an unexpected bonus, I began to jump head first into LIFE outside of work. I rediscovered all the things I had pushed aside for my career – music, reading, art, dating or simply enjoying an afternoon in Central Park. Perhaps the greatest experience that came from all the “work” was running my first half-marathon. I had never run for exercise before. In fact, I hated it. But last summer I was inspired to train for a half marathon. Armed with a new pair of shoes and a training schedule, I set out on one of the greatest adventures of my life. For three months I woke up at 5:30am to run, building up strength, endurance, confidence and courage with each step. There were many days when I wanted to stay in bed and some days when I doubted I could complete the race. But when race day came, I remembered all the things I had learned from my coaching sessions with Jenny – staying focused, envisioning the end result and committing 110%. Two hours, forty-one minutes and 13 miles later – I crossed the finish line feeling as though I could accomplish anything. With this adventure under my belt I was encouraged to try other adventurous experiences – skydiving, trapeze school, voice lessons.
Though I’m still searching for clarity on the career front, I know I have come leaps and bounds. Working with Jenny has kept me focused on the journey. Our sessions remind me to trust in the universe to guide me and believe that I am where I am supposed to be. Though there will be trying times, I truly believe – with heart, courage and belief in myself – I will find my way home.” - R.D.
“Hi Jenny:
Your messages have been so terribly timely for me lately! I finally decided to quit my full-time job (last day March 4!) to pursue my consulting business again and, more importantly, start coaching and teaching swimming more.
I really thought I wouldn’t be able to do the coaching/teaching “full time” for a couple more years, but as things have unfolded over the past week, it seems like I may be able to devote more of my time to this passion than I had originally planned. I’m excited and terrified all at the same time, but I’m thrilled I will finally have the “space” and time to focus on my goals. Thanks for always keeping us inspired!!” - Shelley Ouellette, SCO Consulting Services
“Jenny is a true master in empowering professionals to achieve their career and life goals and enabling them to live the life they want. Through her unique blend of vision exercises, spiritual insights, as well as specific tactical next steps, she has the relentless focus to help her clients accomplish winning results. Partnering up with Jenny has been a life changer for me. Each session is a part of this ongoing journey for continuous improvement and I am always fond of giving her credit for my results that I didn’t even know was possible by saying it was an “AJ” (“after Jenny”) effect.” - Jenn, Higher Education Administrator, Career Changer
“I began working with Jenny nearly a year ago. At the time, I was a business attorney at a private law firm. Today, I have a three-part professional life, as a yoga teacher, doula and nonprofit consultant. Also notable is that each of these paths are international in scope, as I love to travel; in fact, I’m currently making a temporary relocation to France to teach yoga!
Jenny has been a wonderful guide, confidante and cheerleader throughout my journey. From our first session, I knew I had found someone who would be able to help me define and focus my professional goals. She is a superb listener and has consistently provided personalized and effective feedback, in the form of both praise and constructive criticism.
Jenny’s flexibility with scheduling, her fair price structure, and her calm demeanor balanced with high energy make her a joy to work with.” – Kelly, yoga teacher, doula, non-profit consultant
“Jenny Fenig’s coaching, in the course of 3 months, changed my outlook and life-coping techniques. When I look back at the changes that happened in my life in the 3 months that I worked with Jenny, her guidance and exercises were key to my making the right choices to facilitate those positive changes. I look forward to working with her again.” – Karen, marketing communications executive
“Working with Jenny was a pleasure. It was so helpful to talk through my life & career goals with someone who could provide unbiased insight and ideas. I was finally able to clearly articulate what I wanted – and also come to terms with what wasn’t working for me. And, she always held me accountable to my statements, so I knew I always had to make good on what I said.” – Suzanne, advertising account manager
“Jenny’s coaching assisted me through a very difficult time in my life. Before my sessions with Jenny, I was at a point where I felt helpless and stagnant. Each session gave me the energy and belief that I could make changes and create the life that I wanted to live. I no longer feel as if my situation is not changing. Everyday brings change and the life coaching has helped me embrace the opportunity of change.“ – Virginia, financial services executive
“I started working with Jenny soon after we met in a workshop for entrepreneurs. I was blown away by her story of leaving corporate America, becoming a yoga teacher and designing the life of her dreams. Jenny has a remarkable way of helping me clarify my goals, discover the obstacles that have been keeping me from achieving (and often even pursuing) them, and plan an approach that is right for me. I never feel judged or pushed to do something I’m not ready to. Jenny allows me to set the pace and goals for each session and helps me map the route. She is a positive, compassionate, inspiring, and action-oriented powerhouse. Each session helps me to feel grounded, confident, and fearless! I recommend her without reservation to anyone ready to change their life for the better.” – Anna, licensed massage therapist, Reiki Master, actor
“When you come to a crossroads in your life sometimes you really need a supportive unbiased person to help you reorganize and start again. That is what Jenny did for me. I had just gone through a really tough breakup, started a new job and basically had to rebuild my life. A lot of the stress of the situation was taken away with Jenny’s help. I was able to look at the situation as an observer and not get sucked into the “drama” and let life unfold as it should. I recommend Jenny to anyone looking to better their life.” - Alli, Actor/Yoga teacher
“I have always enjoyed learning in a group but learning from a group of like-minded working mothers and entrepreneurs has been transformative. Working together with Jenny and the other talented and driven women in our support group has helped me to realize just how much I am capable of, even during naptime. I was hesitant to join a virtual support group, thinking that in-person meetings would be crucial to success but instead I found that I was more efficient over the phone and better able to give and get advice without seeing the person giving it and without feeling like I had to add more or hold back. Thank you Jenny for an educational and helpful experience.” – Jessica Silverstein, Principal, Attorney’s Counsel: Does your resume rise to the Bar?
“Jenny has been such a great addition to my journey as an entrepreneur. Her insight, experience and accessible nature, has helped me refocus on my business. With the birth of our 2nd baby in April, my mind & time have been consumed. By joining her Mastermind group, it has allowed me to stay connected with other amazing women who are going through many of the same aches and pains I am as an entrepreneur and as a mom. I am grateful to have met Jenny and to be a part of such a groundbreaking and inspiring group of women. I look forward to learning more from her in the weeks and months to come.” – Amy Sapirstein, President/Owner, Active Urban Mom LLC (creator of Mommy Mitten)
“Joining Jenny’s entrepreneur mastermind group completely helped me realize that so much of what I was going through as an entrepreneur was not just about me or my business but about being an entrepreneur in general. I looked forward to each call and really enjoyed connecting with other entrepreneur moms and hearing how they overcome some of the challenges we all face. Jenny was amazing at inspiring us to enjoy the journey of being an entrepreneur as well as sharing resource suggestions with us to enhance our individual businesses and achieve our goals. This brings to mind one of the biggest bonuses of the group which was using it for accountability and reaching the goals that we put out to the group during each session. I highly recommend this for any entrepreneur.” – Carla Tanz, Independent Consultant for Swiss Health and Wellness company Arbonne International
“Being a member of babybites’ Mompreneur support group led by Jenny was very beneficial, and so timely. The first session started days after I resigned from my traditional part-time job to focus solely on growing my charitable organization and its community support programs.
Through using the group as my “stakeholders,” I found the structure, focus, accountability and support I needed to move my organization from a small community-based project, to a formalized non-profit organization. Entrepreneurship is challenging and sometimes isolating, and can be particularly difficult as a mom trying to balance family, work, and personal growth. Having the external supports necessary to keep on target, help with establishing long and short-term goals, and to share resources, is invaluable.
And importantly, you are certain to make meaningful personal or professional connections with your fellow Mompreneurs. I’m grateful for my new friendships, my strong and growing professional network, and the new perspective I’ll take with me.” – Jennifer K. Maulsby, Founder & Executive Director, Everyday Philanthropy and the Socks’n Undies Sunday Program
