What Do You See In Your Future?

Give yourself a HUGE gift: spending an hour … or two or three … to create your vision for the future.  You investing this time will pay off BIG TIME for months and years to come.  Bank on it.

You can start by creating your vision for 1 year … and if you really want to be bold, create your vision for the next 3 years.

I just looked over my 1-year vision I wrote a year ago and am AMAZED at how many of my goals I have achieved. I started my piece:

“Wow.  What a year.  If I had to summarize this year, I’d call it: The Year of Playing Big.  No more hiding in the corner, no more not speaking up, no more doubting myself and allowing fear to hold me back.  WOO HOO!”

It only got better from there! Ready to create your vision for YOUR juicy future? Here’s how …

ONE YEAR FROM NOW

Write freely about your life in January 2012.  Think about the answers to the following questions and be as detailed as possible …

  • What are you doing? (In as many aspects of your life as possible)
  • With whom are you doing it?
  • Where you are living?
  • How much income are you earning?
  • How much fun are you having?
  • What difference are you making in the world each day?
  • What do your senses pick up?
  • What do you feel?

THREE YEARS FROM NOW

Tips from the amazing Fabienne Fredrickson (more info about her below), who I will be working with in January 2011!

Your 3-year vision must be one that will literally PULL you into your future, will scare you just a little bit, and make your heart beat a little faster than normal whenever you read this.

Make your 3-year vision very specific, realistic, and a big STRETCH (that’s what’s going to move you forward quicker than you would if you didn’t have it). If you’re right brained, use bullet points for categories such as business, finances, personal, family, spiritual, fun, health, etc. If you’re left-brained, then write freely, and remember to keep it all grounded in the specific, with lots of MEASURABLES and TANGIBLES thrown in there so you can keep track of your progress over the next 3 years (that’s what I do).

Be sure to write in the present tense as if it were 3 years from now… If it doesn’t scare you just a little bit or get your mind racing, then it’s probably not enough of a stretch. By the way, I just looked back to last year’s 3-year vision and I was SHOCKED to see how many of the goals in my 3-year vision I’d already achieved in just a little over a year. This stuff really works!!
