I’ve been a bookworm and a writer since I was a little girl. I’ve been shaping and sharing stories all my life.
Writing my journal to my sister Julie after she died helped me make sense of my grief and know that she was – and is – still with me.
Editing my high school yearbook was one of my fondest memories from high school.
And serving as a tutor in the Writing Lab at University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications was uber-fulfilling.
And penning that “do the right thing” letter to my landlord in college who illegally kept our security deposit made me realize how powerful my words were when he promptly returned our money.
My writing landed me a plum internship, then full-time job at a top PR agency in NYC straight out of college working on major projects for Kellogg, Polaroid, Pfizer, M+Ms, Hershey and Red Lobster.
My writing allowed me to pivot and change careers into conference production, giving me the opportunity to write the copy for the 16-page event brochures (massive undertakings!). I created talk descriptions for some of the greatest thinkers and doers of our time – Malcolm Gladwell, Tom Peters, Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Ken Blanchard and corporate leaders from just about every major Fortune 500 company around.
And my writing carried me into launching my own business, writing hundreds of blog posts, becoming a contributor for NBC’s TODAY Parents, and the ultimate: writing, self-publishing and launching my first book “Get Gutsy.”
Writing saved my life and gave me life.
My entire journey has led me to this point: helping future authors write their book.
