Today marks the final day of my business retreat ALCHEMY Live.
It has been beyond my wildest dreams.
Holding space for the event also led to me missing an assignment deadline for an awesome program I’m in called Momentum Pro by the amazing Jennifer Kem.
It was due this past Sunday, which was the first night of the event for my VIP ticket holders.
I “almost” rallied and dove into the assignment even though my body said loudly, “Jenny, you need to SAVE YOUR ENERGY for your event.”
You see, all of last week I was attending a weeklong training with Gabby Bernstein called Spirit Junkie Masterclass Level 2. It was amazing and intense and required every ounce of me.
So the fuel I had left in the tank on Sunday needed to be reserved for ALCHEMY Live … and although I don’t like missing assignment deadlines, I LISTENED to my wise body and felt the blow of that missed deadline.
This has been a long road of self-healing for me.
The day after my sister Julie died I was back at high school. I didn’t know how to take breaks. I didn’t know how to simply “be” and not be perfect.
I’ve learned.
I’m proud of myself for missing that deadline although it stung a bit as it feels out of character.
And honestly that assignment has been on my mind this week because I’m the type of gal who does what she says she’s going to do. I honor my commitments.
I believe in showing up.
Showing up, speaking up, being visible, making moves is CRUCIAL to my business and personal growth. Yours too. Mark my words.
How often are you living this way?
Is this credo in your bones, in your blood, in the way you move through the world?
The brilliant marketing mind Seth Godin breaks it down so eloquently …
Listen to his words and take heed.
The cost of neutral
If you come to my brainstorming meeting and say nothing, it would have been better if you hadn’t come at all.
If you go to work and do what you’re told, you’re not being negative, certainly, but the lack of initiative you demonstrate (which, alas, you were trained not to demonstrate) costs us all, because you’re using a slot that could have been filled by someone who would have added more value.
It’s tempting to sit quietly, take notes and comply, rationalizing that at least you’re not doing anything negative. But the opportunity cost your newly lean, highly leveraged organization faces is significant.
Not adding value is the same as taking it away. – Seth Godin
How are you adding value?
Think BIGGER.
This work is NOT about you.
It’s about your PEOPLE. The beautiful souls you serve.
They need you. They need to hear your message. They want to help your MISSION expand.
PLANT SEEDS and keep SHOWING UP, even when it seems that NOTHING is happening and you are starting to get really discouraged.
It may take a while for the seeds to grow, but they will. The more that we step up, the more the Universe will deliver.
—-> Do a HAPPY DANCE with me because this post marks me COMPLETING my missed assignment! And I did it the morning before my FINAL day of ALCHEMY Live. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Go out and ROCK it today.
