I am a huge fan of live events.

Here’s why …

There is nothing that takes the place of six senses connection. Computers are great, and being able to do business online is fantastic. But I have not only used online methods to build my business.

I have very much used offline methods as well. I think some of these offline methods are getting lost with all of the hoopla and focus online.

You need to touch people everywhere if you want to create a movement that lasts.

I recently saw Gloria Steinem talk about this.

She’s been at it for decades and that’s what I’m in it for.

Someone asked me recently how long I want to do what I’m doing and I said “forever.” Now the way that I share my magic and knowledge may shift, but I plan on sharing and teaching and guiding forever.

I’m not looking to be the one-hit wonder who comes out with a bang and then totally disappears after a little while.

I am “all in.”

My philosophy is “slow and steady wins the race.” I use online AND offline techniques to grow and connect with my tribe.

If that’s what you’re interested in, if you have something that you are really passionate about helping people achieve, then I want to talk to you about how to leverage this offline technique of live events.

Now, you can certainly host your own live events like I do, but I want to talk to you about actually attending live events, especially if you haven’t done a lot of this before.

When it comes to choosing what live event to go to, you really need to check in with your intuition … and ask yourself some valuable questions.

Attending events requires an investment of time and money so as a gutsy biz chick you want to ensure you’re being SMART about where you show up.

Questions to ponder:

  • Does this live event call out to you?
  • Do you like who it’s being hosted by?
  • Do you feel the content will be valuable to you?
  • Do you like the flow of the agenda?
  • Do you vibe with the people who will be at the event, the attendees?
  • Who are the speakers?
  • How is it setup?
  • What is the venue? Is it in a big metropolitan city and you’re in just some random hotel room without windows? That’s fine, but there are many other types of venues. I tend to do my events at beautiful venues that connect us to nature that have luxury built in, because I like that myself and I feel like when we do this work in the world, it’s intense and we need really supportive structures to be able to rise up to our next level together.
  • What travel will be involved? When it comes to travel, are you comfortable going solo or do you want to buddy up with someone? And if you buddy up, can you split hotel cost? Can you carpool together? Do you want to get a flight together?

You can ask yourself these questions to make the decision easier.

The biggest question to ask yourself is what kind of transformation are you looking for?

What is your intention from attending and how will this event give you the space that you need to make a huge up-level in your business?

Word to the wise: do NOT look at all the reasons why this is hard for you to make happen. Getting out and going anywhere is effort, it does require effort, and when you decide to do this, you will be met with many challenges.

If you have children, you’ll have to arrange for their care and talk to people about getting help and making sure that all is well when Mom leaves the building. And it will be. I used to think everything’s going to stop and no one is going to be able to do it as good as me, but everyone’s going to be fine. Everyone is going to be fine, and actually, everyone’s better because you come back as a better, more plugged-in human being, woman, mother.

Know that when you make this decision to attend, sometimes very close to when the event is about to take place, shit starts hitting the fan (I’ve seen this happen so many times!).

Things start happening, these roadblocks start emerging, and you’re like, ‘What? Maybe I’m not supposed to go to this thing.’

Somebody gets sick in your family, or you lose a client and you’re feeling some money woes.

You name it, it starts happening.

Relationships start imploding and it is very, very easy to use those circumstances as an excuse to keep you home.

Because home, it feels safer. It feels much safer and easier.

I will say to you that you’ve got to really be committed and strong to keep going through those obstacles because it will so be worth it.

The people who you will meet at live events, some of them will stay in your business and your life forever. I’m serious. FOREVER.

The ideas that you get will be worth their weight in gold and the person that you evolve into will knock your socks off. Truly, truly, truly. You can’t go back to old you.

You’ll be better, stronger, wiser, laser-focused on the true priorities in your business and your life. You’ll get the confidence and courage to LET GO of the other extraneous things and the details that are holding you back.

That is the power of live events.

Find a live event that calls out to you, sign up for it, commit and watch what happens in your business.

And if you want to come hang with ME at my kickass live event this October, well come on over here and check out ALCHEMY Live. We still have a few seats left and would love to give one to YOU, gutsy biz chick.
