Do you ever wonder how people design their days? I do. I find it fascinating to learn how human beings LIVE day-to-day.

You can learn a lot about someone when you see how they spend their precious time.

Time is more valuable than money. You can always make more money. But you can’t get time back once it’s gone.

I am a fierce protector of my time. I’m very conscious of every move I make in my business and how I design my schedule.

I ask myself, “Is this helping me grow my business? And is this the best use of my time right now?”

I only say YES to opportunities that I feel will move the mission forward.

In addition to being a wife (married 13 years!), mom of 3, and an award-winning coach, I am a businesswoman and I don’t apologize for that.

I delegate and systematize what’s important but not essential for me to do. I’ll put a pause on projects if I don’t feel it’s worth the effort (and then decide whether or not to resume with new parameters or to let it go). And I delete things or simply say NO to requests or projects that aren’t aligned.

When it comes to my personal life, I’m always looking at how to make my routine and systems more efficient and enjoyable to reduce stress and drama.

Monthly deliveries from Amazon’s Subscribe and Ship (for kids’ snacks, toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, batteries … and more) Grove Collaborative (for eco-friendly personal care products) and Daily Harvest (for amazing food that’s healthy and so fast to make!) helps here.

Automatic bill pay.

Weekly housekeeper who helps with laundry.

Twice a week babysitter.

Amazing homeschool tutors and classes for our boys.

A phone that is ALWAYS on silent mode (I am not being pulled in every time a text or call comes in).

Sending my husband calendar invitations for anything we both need to be in the loop on so we are “on the same page.”

And simply ignoring stuff that doesn’t warrant my time is HUGE here too.

This comes relatively easy to me because it’s the way I’m wired. It’s how I roll. I was even featured in a story in the New York Daily News in my early 20s for my organizational skills at work and in the way I set up my tiny bedroom in my 4th floor walkup apartment in Manhattan.

But I know it doesn’t come easy to everyone.

So I thought it would be fun to share a breakdown of a day in my life so you can see where my time was going and how I wear all the hats I proudly wear – woman, wife, homeschooling mom of 3, pet owner, business owner, coach, fitness lover.

I recently wrote a post about how I chunk my time and this is a huge key to my success.

Hope you find this recap helpful. It’s real. It’s uncensored. Just like life ought to be!

Wednesday, January 16

6:15 am: Drink warm water with lemon, followed by Harney + Son’s Dragon Pearl Jasmine tea. Bask in the quiet as I visualize my day. Read. My goal is to read and finish 50 books this year.

7:00 am: Take Winnie out to the bathroom. Kids wake up and eat breakfast.

8:15 am: Get Kate out the door for school. Steven drops her off.

I quickly hop onto social media, email and Asana (project management tool)

8:30 am: Go running with Winnie.

9:00 am: Boys’ math and science tutor arrive. I work with whatever boy isn’t with his tutor.

12:00 pm: Break my fast with a healthy meal. This is my first meal of the day. I follow Intermittent Fasting as part of this program.

I then transition the homeschooling responsibilities to my husband for the rest of the afternoon. Steven will also pick up Kate from school.

12:30 pm: Shower and dressed.

1:00 pm: Lead kick-off coaching call for my TAKE A STAND mastermind clients. So excited to be working with these women! I’ve been leading masterminds since 2011. This work never gets old.

3:00: Call with my bookkeeper and financial strategist where we celebrate 2018 results and set projections for the first quarter. The moon is waxing (getting brighter) and it’s the perfect time to make plans and step more fully into my financial power.

4:30 pm: Log onto Asana and Slack to communicate with team. We are gearing up for the launch of Get Gutsy Coach Training School and there are number of exciting projects to keep moving. We’re about to celebrate the 4th anniversary of our wonderful school. We’ve trained women from around the world in the 3 golden keys required to make a difference and a great living as a coach. I’m so excited to meet our new students soon!

Hop onto social media and connect with my clients in MAGIC MAKERS.

5:00 pm: Eat dinner that Steven has made. Steven and Luke head to hockey practice while Kate, Sean and I hang out at home.

6:00 pm onward: Dinner cleanup, baths / showers, take the dog out, read and make stuff with kids.

9:00 pm: Lights out. (I don’t always go to bed this early, but I love when I do.)

“There’s a myth that time is money. In fact, time is more precious than money. It’s a nonrenewable resource. Once you’ve spent it, and if you’ve spent it badly, it’s gone forever.” – Neil A. Fiore

So, there you have it. A day in my life.

This schedule changes based on the day of the week, where we are in the lunar cycle, and what season we’re in. My life is organic and fluid AND I’m super organized and intentional with my time. And this makes all the difference.

I’m ALL IN on this mission to help you change the world through your work. I have big dreams in 2019 and am SO excited about the journey I’m on and the women I’m helping. We’re going to help A LOT of women coaches this year. Because the world is made better by incredible coaches doing incredible work.

TRUTH: You’ve got to take strong, decisive action if you are serious about taking your work to the next level.

You can’t be “one foot in, one foot out” on this mission. This isn’t the hokey pokey here. This is literally why you’re alive.

Be committed … or find something else to commit to.
